One cannot imagine that in this 21st century, barbaric cultures are still celebrated in the name of worship. During this festival women are locked up for days while some men, adult dance naked in broad day light. From the reports over the years, it has always resulted into raping, looting and other hooliganism: even though it is claimed that only men are allowed to come out, certain situation arise when male folks equally get attacked.
There have been instances of some transporters and motorcycle riders used as agents in transporting females down to Idi Iroko so as to make them fall victim

A  PATIENCE

	A patience sportsman will keep training hard even
When there is no hope of winning any medal.

	A patience student will keep studying
Even after a failed effort.

	A patience leader will listen to subordinates
Who tends to be aggressive towards him

	A patience intercessor will keep at it even
When it seems as if there is a closed heaven.

So:

	Don’t just wait, be patient.
When there is nothing to hold on to, be patient
When you want to build anything, be patient.
When you are under pressure, be patient

	Because you can’t give up when you are patient. –

He lost several ponds as a result of the afternoon exertion. At one stage of the game his energy sagged. His method for restoring his ebbing strength was unique. He simply repeated a passage of the Old Testament – “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall wlak, and not faint”.
“Job 4, 11 contains the word – Lish perish for lack of food.” The word lish has been Anti variously translated as a lion, tiger, pather, pard, in various versions of the Bible. It is also translated as ant-lion. Physiologists said that from the ant and the lion is born a beast, which is called the ant-lion. And this animal when born swiftly perishes, because it cannot avail itself of food, but is unable to take it and dies of hunger. And that this is true holy Writ is the witness,. Saying the ant-lion perished for lack of food”. For being of two natures, whenever he wishes to take meat, the nature of the ant, which has appetite for seeds, refuses the meat; but when he wishes to be nourished on seeds, the nature of the lion resists him. So being unable to eat either meat or seeds, he perishes. Sure are those who have no definite purpose in life.” Culled from Science And His past

The truth is that there is clear difference between the man who is sorrowful, because he is lost a love one. Or because of difficulties, challenges or problems, and the man who is constantly living under the oppression of the spirit of sorrow. The former can easily regain back his joy and put the past behind. But unless the latter is delivered from the oppression of the spirit of sorrow, he is heading for total destruction. It just like an accident victim that has got no one to give him first aid treatment or any form of medical treatment.

MADMAN RUNS FROM MAD COW

									HUMOROUS

	Nobody can tell where the angry bull emerged from one lazy afternoon. What most people do remember is that the cow pursued by two obviously weaved handlers- suddenly reared up at a street in a popular slum in Lagos and made straight for a particular spot colonized by a resident lunatic at a popular bus stop in a famous slum.

	With a short broom lasso around its neck like a school boy’s tie, the animal seemed to have snapped from its minders who were now hot in pursuit, waving the remaining length of the rope all around and mouthing their animal language, perhaps to restrain it but without success.

	It was as if there was an undeclared contest between man and beast, may be to prove who was madder. One time, the cow brown coloured with white patches around its muzzle and withers, nostrils flaring and head dipped in the classical bovine charge, honed on to the madman as if it had a personal message to deliver to him.

	Of course, he did not wait to find out whatever it was the beast had for him. Mad as a hatter – what with his appearance, untidy and dread-locked hair and smelly clothes – the insane man was however not so distanced from reality not to notice the imminent danger drawing ever nearer.

	Before you could say Jack, the madman got whatever of his belongings together – rags and all, pots and pans, odds and ends – and ran as fast as his legs could carry him from the bus stop. It was quite a sight, a seemingly crazy man beating a hasty retreat from the same place he used to scare pedestrians and commuters off from with just on baleful glare.

	Only a foot or so away from the madman’s dwelling the cow suddenly veered off and galloped away, as if realizing his opponent had lost the nerve for a serious confrontation. By now, the two normads were quite relieved that no harm came the madman’s way.

	Man is often inspired, induced, moved, influenced by one thing or the other to act the way he acts or to do the things he does, or to take the steps he takes. He could be impelled by evil forces or divine forces good or bad, fear or love. But for the madman, it was fear that impelled him to action. He had to take to his heel so that he would not be hit by the mad cow. The spirit of fear put him on his heels.

	What is it, that is pursuing you? It is the spirit inside man that inspires him to behave the way he behaves. If your spirit is positive, you are likely to act positively but if it is negative, then you will act negatively. The madman was frightened because of the fierce spirit that made the cow charged towards him crazily. So he had to run for his life.

	To hit the nail on the head, it is the negative spirit inside a sadist that makes him a wicked man. And it is the same spirit that breeds hatred, unforgiveness, vindictiveness, greed, depression, insanity, suicide. Or whatever evil act. And in the same way, it is the positive spirit inside a happy man that makes him joyful; and to forgive, bless, love and to exhibit other positive traits.

	And it all starts from the mind because until you convince yourself that you are an hopeless sorrowful man, and you make yourself to believe that, the spirit of sorrow cannot have a place in place.

Mad man runs from mad cow

  Soon, he is going to die in his pool of blood.

	And that kind of deliverance can only come from the Potter. You may ask, what of those who have been healed through the help of a psychotherapist? Firstly, not all cases of insanity are as a result of oppression by the spirit of sorrow. Secondly, in every form of healing there is always a God – factor.

“The spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon me because the LORD has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the broken hearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD”S favour has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who morn in Israel, he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. For the LORD has planted them like strong and graceful oats for his own glory.”

	No matter what you are passing through, do not ever let your mind degenerates to that level where the door will be opened for the spirit of sorrow to come in and oppress you. And I have come to tell you, if you have ever opened the door – and the spirit of sorrow is already oppressing. The Potter can deliver you! You only need to ask for his help. Will you let the sovereign spirit of the LORD set you free?

	My friend it is either joy or sorrow. Go for joy

A king is more than a donkey and a prophet is not just a seer. We all need miracles to survive everyday of our lives. The miracle of sleeping and waking up is a miracle that everybody enjoys every day. But we all must be productive lest we become a liability to the society and we bring disaster ourselves.
The difference between a king and every other person is the anointing and likewise a prophet. If the difference in not clear, it is simply because the “super” that difference the natural from the supernatural is not there. But anointing without the “knowledge of the truth” is dangerous. There is no tool that can help a king who lacks knowledge, foolish people reject knowledge to own destruction
Foolishness is a state of mind and it leads to failure, which is an event. When knowledge, which is an agent of change, is not welcomed it leads to desperation – which is another state of mind leads to sorrow and sorrow leads to insanity or suicide, which is the loudest expression of foolishness.
Look at the wealthy farmer who committed suicide. Nobody forced him to so. Nobody force him to take a decision that made his business crumbled even when his wife, his personal broker and financial adviser counseled him against taking such a decision. Every decision that you take is either progressive or retrogressive. And that is why the knowledge of the truth is important. That is why it is often said, “That a powerful and unreasonable man is the laziest man around.”
I don’t know the problems that you are nursing; neither do I know its life span. But God knows it all and He wants to help you solve them. Besides He wants to pour on you the anointing to walk in the supernatural. But you need to know how to obtain the anointing more than you need divine intervention. This is because, His ways begets His acts. So you need to obey divine instructions so that you enjoy divine intervention. Obedience is the KEY that enables us to walk in to the supernatural.
You need to obey divine instruction, which is another matter of choice. You cannot reject His ways and expect Him to act. If you want God to answer you, you must be ready to listen to Him. Don’t rush to present your request before Him. Learn to listen to Him. He has a message for you. “producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry.” -Isaiah 55:10
Elijah learnt to listen to God’s instruction therefore he was fed with miracle food while others were starving as a result of a closed heaven. While he was drinking from the book of Keith the heaven would open for the ravens to take food to him. God can close the heaven against the evildoers yet the heavens will be open for you if you do His will. At a point in time, God charged Elijah to leave the book of Keith for the widow of Zarephath’s house {I1 king 11} God sent him to go and respond to the windows need. Elijah was made to announce the closure of the heavens but he was to produce miracle food for the widow of Zarepath and her son throughout the period of famine. This clearly shows that Elijah was not a sadist. There is always a time to give out part of what you have received. The man that ate miracle food ended up giving out miracle food. It’s that not awesome. If God is feeding you today, He is doing that so that you may be productive. You should not be barren. I command the spirit of bareness hiding in you to leave you right now in Jesus name.
You cannot afford to remain at the receiving end, when you are supposed to be giving to nations. He gave you His name so that you can be a name and a gift to nation. You need to make up your mind to be productive. It is only then that your prayers can be positively answered. May I announce to you that it is not enough to be responsible you should be productive? People should be able and willing to depend on you. It is then that you can be prosperous. People want to see what you have or what you are, before they listen to you. Sometimes people are responsible but they are not productive. You should go beyond responsibility to productivity. Mike Murdock said, “give another what he cannot find anywhere else, and he will keep returning”. It is what we produce that people buy. Therefore, the second choice we’ve got to make is to be productive.
In order words, kingship is not just about the anointing, kings should be productive. Clergy men need to be productive, CEO’s needs to be productive, politicians need be productive, everybody should be even when need to be productive. Even women should be productive some people are miracle freaks, they prefer to be spoon-fed, since they are living for themselves. They forget that there is a time to receive and there is a time to give. God made everything to re-produce itself via the seed {according to it kind}. Miracles and productivity co-exist. So that you will not be a liability to yourself and the society, you should be productive. Alan McGinis said, “There is no more noble occupation in the world than to assist another human being “. The man that achieves true success is the man that lives for other. This is because; prosperity in life depends on your willingness to help others. Remember nobody is an island, nobody can succeed alone.
Bread for the hungry {consumers} and seed for the farmers {producers}. All human beings are consumers, because everybody needs food for his stomach. Food nourishes our body and it makes us fit for our daily routine. In fact food sustains life. But people need more that food for their life, nobody is created to just be a consumer. Everybody has the potential and a purpose to fulfill, and we all have the capacity to meet a need. Look at Jesus, he produced bread, wine, he healed the sick, raised up the dead. He changed and reformed the prostitutes, he delivered the oppressed. Jesus gave people what they did not have.
Producers, produces as many products as possible so that they can sell the extra to others who will pay them back with money. The businessman deals with people needs so that he can earn a living. The lawyer’s joy is to win his client case so that he can get a profitable income. The journalist earns his own living by providing quality news to the people. Do you have a job at all? If you don’t what are you doing about it? Desire with action is the difference between your dreams and accomplishment, because right inside your “own desire” is a magic power. A giving time is usually more comfortable that a receiving time. The Israelites were more comfortable in the Promised Land than the time they were living on miracle food in the wilderness {ps 105:12-15}. Joseph was more comfortable when he became the prime minister of Egypt than when he was a leader in the prison {Ps 105:17-21}.”The wealthy farmer” in our parable was more comfortable when he was producing than when he lost his investment and as a result he committed suicide.

Elijah as a case study (1king 17)

While he was at the brook of kerinth:

he was lonely, there was nobody to minister to him except the ravens;

he couldn’t share his potential with others;

he was not properly sheltered; and the river side is very cold, and even chilly at night

he didn’t have adequate security;

But while he was in the house of the widow of Zarephath:

the widow and her son ministered to his need;

he had bread, water, wine and shelter;

he had proper security,

PERFECT LOVE CAST AWAY FEAR

Andrei Bitov, a Russian novelist, grew up under an atheistic communist regime. But God got his attention one dreary day. He recalls, “in my twenty-seventh year, while riding the metro in Leningrad {now St. Petersburg} I was overcome with a despair so great that life seemed to stop at once, preempting the future entirely, let alone any meaning. Suddenly, all by itself, a phrase appeared: “Without God life makes no sense repeating it in astonishment, I rode the phrase up like a moving staircase, got out of the metro and walked into God’s light. This is because God not just the starting point of your life; he the source of it. You should remember the adage “that a river that forgets its source will dry up”. “God should always be the number one on your scale of preference. Horace Bushel said, “The supreme thing that every man needs is a master and that master is Jesus. Apart from the sure hope of immortality life is Vanity because:

Life can never be all about money.

Life can never be all about career

Life can never be all about food.

Life can never be all about power.

Life can never be all about sex.

Life can never be all about marriage.

Life can never be all about procreation.

Life can never be all about fulfilling goals.

Life is more than all these it is about immortality –there is life after death!

A lot of people do not have “joy” because of they made the wrong choice in the face of abundant opportunity. Man does not lack opportunity but the wisdom to make the right choice. And that wisdom comes from God. It is only the few who are God-centered that can cross the Jordan of life. The masses usually retreat despite the promise of God. Crossing over to the other side is important for everyone who would live a meaningful life. And you need to be brave.
Imagine what would have happened if Augustine had remained in the harbor of wretchedness. How many people would he have be influenced negatively compared to the positive marks he left behind. He wrote his most important book titled “The city of God” after his conversion; he fought tirelessly for the faith against disruptive tendencies and heresies within the church. Most of all, his outstanding contribution all generations was his personal devotion. He couldn’t have left behind an enviable record if I he had not accepted the gift of God. No matter what you able to acquire you should always remember the words of William Arthur Ward: “Each of us one day will be judged by our standard of life, not by our standard of living, by our measure of giving, not by our measure of wealth by our simple goodness, not by seeming greatness.”

“That right the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask and I will give it to you! Solomon replied, you were wonderfully kind to my father, David, because he was honest and true and faithful to you. And you have continued this great kindness to him today by giving a son to succeed him. O lord my God, now you have made me king instead of my father David, but I am a little child who doesn’t know his way around. And I am here among your own chosen people, a nation so great they are too numerous to count! Give me an understanding mind so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right or wrong. For whom by himself his able to govern is able to govern you’re this great nation of yours? The lord was pleased with Solomon’s reply and was glad that he had asked for wisdom. So God replied, because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people and have not asked for long life or riches for yourself or the death of your enemies—I will give you what you have asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding mind such as no one else ever had or will ever have! And I will also give you what you did not asked for –riches and honour! No other king in the rest of the world will be compared to you for the rest of your life! And if you follow me and obey my commands as your father, David, did, I will give you a long life.”
1 kings 3:5-14

“Because he asked for wisdom in governing God’s people”. There is no how we will talk about prosperity and will not talk about Solomon. Solomon was one of the most unselfish persons who have ever lived on the planet earth. He had the chance to ask for anything that he wanted. But rather than ask for something that would give him personal gains he asked for wisdom to govern God’s people. We must be God – centered. Many ask for wisdom for selfish reason. You can only prosper when you have what you can share with others. Solomon got all that he had because he wanted to be responsible and not because he wanted people to serve him. Solomon authored many books, he famous and he was the most powerful king in the world, in his day, he noted for wisdom, riches, and literary attainment, he loved the people of God, and he loved the earth and wanted to care for God’s people.
Wisdom is not delivered via intellectualizing but through inspiration. The moment Solomon received wisdom he began to received inspiration on how to administer justice, how to make God’s people comfortable. In the long run, he was more prosperous than every other person because there is no how you will make others comfortable and you will not be comfortable.
In order words, the number one choice to make is to be “responsible”. But you scope of responsibility will determine how prosperous you will be. For example, if you are selling fifty Oranges in a day, then you will get the pay for fifty oranges per day. But if you supply the orange that fifty million people consume per day then you will get the pay for fifty million oranges per day. Right inside you these is seed of greatness that you have to utilize.
Don’t convert what others have because what you have is equally good, if not better than what you are coveting. You should use what you have and share it with others who do not have, don’t attempt to rub the next generation of your contribution to good of mankind.
Augustine did not rub African and the world at large of his contribution to humanity. Today, I am sharing his story with you because he made the right choice. If you can make the right choice today, then tomorrow, someone else will be sharing your story with others. These who created pains yesterday cannot control the potentials of tomorrow. May I let you know that your seed is the only influence you have over your future and inside your seed there is a forest, by sowing a single seed you can influence a multitude of people. An irresponsible person is the one who has deliberately failed to attend to the needs of others. The way you respond to the needs of your neighbor may determine how God will respond your own needs.
Solomon had wisdom because he was mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually prepared, to use it for administering God’s people. And in the long run he was more prosperous than every other person.
He released his potential by building the temple of God where God’s people can worship together. He rebuilt the towns given to him by king Hiram, and he settled the Israelites in them. He was so prosperous that, though the Israelites were as numerous as the sand on the seashore, they were contended, with plenty to eat and drink {1 kings 4:20-21} It did not stop there, he made silver as plentiful in Jerusalem as stones And valuable cedar wood was as common as sycamore wood that grows in the foothills of Judah {2ch 9:27} He also built the Milo and the walls of Jerusalem. He composed some 3000 proverbs and wrote 1005 songs.
Solomon was not a reservoir but a channel of blessing to his generation and even the generations that followed continued to benefit from the unselfish life of his great man of God. If you want to be wiser then be ready to go beyond yourself. You should build what others will benefit from. Don’t be like African leaders who build their bank accounts in foreign banks. One of the secrets of prosperity is responsibility. If you were placed in a position of responsibility then it would do well for you to attend to the needs of your people. Whosoever is not responsible cannot be prosperous. Financial riches are an aspect of prosperity many leaders are financially rich but they are not prosperous because of the pains they have created. They are not happy because there is no joy to share.
A French philosopher once said, “the whole world is on a quest for security and happiness.” A millionaire confided, “l thought money could buy happiness – l have been miserably disillusioned.” A famous film star broke down; “l have money, beauty, glamour and popularity. I should be the happiest woman in the world but I am miserable. Why?
Solomon was more famous than the wise men of the East, who were usually note for great wisdom, because he used his wisdom to respond to the needs of more people than every other person. In order words, he made more people happy than every other person. Mother Therese is one leader that people will not forget in a hurry because of her generosity. She brought smile to the face of many people. You know what she said? “True holiness consists of doing the will of God with a smile”.
